In 1990 VidAmerica, Inc. started to release episodes of Speed Racer onto VHS. These were back in the days of one-episode-per-tape.
The VHS I own contains the episode, "The Desperate Racer," which happens to be one of my favorite Speed Racer adventures. It's a genuinely fun outing, where Speed participates in the Pineapple Grand Prix. I never purchased any of the other volumes, mostly because I detested the 'single episode, single VHS,' product model. It wouldn't be until 2003 when Artisan/Lionsgate began releasing each season on DVD.
